06207 A PRACTICAL APPROACH FOR DEHUMIDIFICATION OF HUGE STORAGE TANKS DURING INTERNAL COATING APPLICATION

Crude & Petroleum product storage is a very important activity in the petroleum industry; it requires that storage tanks should have smooth operation without any in-service leakages, which increases the unplanned tank outages and environmental pollutions. To minimize the chances of in-service leakages or to increase the tank service life, specially developed high performance coatings (e.g. high built solvent-less epoxy coatings & high built urethane coatings) are used. To get the optimum performance, these specially developed coatings should be:

A) Applied over highly blast cleaned surfaces that are prepared under highly controlled environmental conditions.

B) Applied & cured under highly controlled environmental conditions.
