A laboratory study was performed by exposing seven candidate heat exchanger alloys to simulated 2 (sCO2) Brayton power cycles. The alloys, consisting of fineirtriaitilcly s 3te.6e%ls ,O austenitic stainless steels, and nickel-base alloys, were exposed to impure CO2 containing 2 and 5.3% H2O at a constant pressure of 200 bar.

The effect of monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA) and N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) on the corrosion behavior of N80 steel in water-saturated supercritical CO2 phase and supercritical CO2-saturated aqueous phase with impurities (SO2, NO2 and O2).
Two methods to prepare tungsten/tungsten oxide as reference electrode for performing electrochemical measurements in H2O-saturated super critical (SC) CO2 phase
Titanium does not show the required mechanical strength for high temperature high pressure applications and it can only be used to form liners for an SCWO apparatus. Therefore, pressure tubes made of alloy 625 were lined with titanium grade 2, Additionally corrosion tests with coupons made of titanium grades 2, 5, 7, 12 and P-C were performed.
Vital work is being carried out across engineering to ensure the net-zero commitments as laid out in the Paris agreement are met. Due to increased government investment, carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) has become key to achieving these commitments, with some industries only able to decarbonise through CCUS, such as concrete or fertiliser production. Carbon capture has also moved away from vertically integrated systems, with single emitters having dedicated downstream transport and storage sites, to larger systems gathering CO2 with a shared transport and storage infrastructure.
