ABSTRACT A good part of the equipment and units of Refining are likely to present problems of cracking related to the wet presence of H2S. To preserve the integrity of the equipments it is necessary to manage this form of corrosion. This work shows the experience and lessons learned at Petroplus Petit Couronne Refinery to guarantee the integrity and operational continuity of concerned in service equipments and the application of best practices for construction of new ones. The severity of the fluids and susceptibility of the equipment are identified and according RBI studies they are prioritized considering the risk According to the identified damages and the risk (criticality) adapted inspection plans are developed specifying its nature extension and periodicity. The inspection results are evaluated and Fitness for Service is established according to API 579 criteria. If it is necessary mitigation measurements are taken to guarantee the equipment’s integrity until its replacement. New equipments are fabricated according best practices and recommendations indicated in documents NACE MR0103 NACE 8X194 NACE TM0177 and NACE TM0284. References: 1.
