Galvanic anodes have now been used to mitigate corrosion of steel in reinforced concrete structures for several years. This paper presents results of a test in a highway bridge deck where anodes from different suppliers were installed and monitored by Pennsylvania DOT. Results are also presented from a long-term test of galvanic anodes in a parking garage deck in New York. Monitoring of anodes installed in test blocks are presented over a test period of 11 years. These are believed to be the longest reported results of the effectiveness of galvanic anodes in reinforced concrete to date.
