P110 casing is widely used in Shale gas applications to stand high pressures during hydraulic fracture. The presence of H2S have been informed in many of these applications and it will undoubtedly make the material more susceptible to crack. In fact failures said to be related to hydrogen embrittlement have been reported. These problems were mainly observed in high UTS P110 materials in the connection area ( due to resultant high stress).

These and other similar applications showed the need to development of cost effective materials able to cover the mechanical requirements of API P110 and having acceptable resistance to SSC in very mild sour environments ( Region 1)

In this paper the development of a 110 material that covers the P110 requirements and is adequate for service in severity Region 1 is presented . A material that covers also lower pH environments with low H2S partial pressure ( up to 007 bar) is also develop and is reported as well.
Steel design criteria process conditions and controls during OCTG fabrication as well as material evaluation using methods A and D are presented.
