The author began working as a cathodic protection (CP) practitioner in August, 1952 and
conducted tests while observing the excavation, for his first time, of a leak on a buried coated steel
pipeline under CP in the Spring of 1954 near Moran, Kansas.
Presented in this article is information from this corrosion leak site along with four other
corrosion damage sites investigated during excavation by the author beginning with his most recent
investigation and ending with this 1954 leak site investigation.
