Cathodic protection testing procedures for aboveground storage tanks will be discussed. Experience has shown that testing procedure practices are not being followed, leading to inaccurate testing results, and unnecessary expenditures. The often dry or high resistant tank
cushions create unique testing circumstances, which must be accurately tested. The problems and their solutions for testing external aboveground storage tank bottoms will be discussed.
