Aboveground storage tank (AST) bottoms create unique corrosion control challenges. The development of directional drilling technology allows us to "look" under AST's and accumulate important data. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of current procedures, techniques and materials utilized in evaluating tank bottom cathodic protection, along with interesting observations from a unique sampling of AST potential data.
