Reinforced Concrete Corrosion_eCourse

In the early morning hours of June 24, 2021, the Champlain Towers Condominium partially collapsed resulting in the loss of 98 lives. The almost 40-year-old structure was built using reinforced concrete and exhibited signs of corrosion.

While the federal investigation continues, AMPP has created this eCourse, using this event as the backdrop and case study, to raise awareness of the significant threat reinforced concrete corrosion can cause.

This course provides a high-level overview of how to protect, inspect, and repair reinforced concrete structures. It does not, however, explain the reason for the collapse or provide any information not publicly available.

Users should spend approximately four hours to complete and earn four hours of Professional Development (PDHs). The course also includes:

-         Learning Activities

-         In-course Knowledge Checks

-         Recommended readings

Purchase of this course includes a one-year subscription and is non-refundable. Students will have access to all course materials for a period of one year from the date of registration. All course work must be completed during this time period. Extensions or transfers cannot be granted.
