Controlled Humidity Protection (CHP) reduces corrosion d/t high relative humidity (exceeding 40%). Addition of the vapor phase corrosion inhibitors to the CHP provide a more effective corrosion protection. A dry air system can will not be able to prevent corrosion.
Using climate control proved its “cool” during a major, temperature sensitive construction project for the Charles-de-Gaulles Bridge Project between Montreal and Repentigny Canada. The air treatment company teamed with general contractor firm Construction Injection EDM Inc and Versailles 48 Inc. the coating contractor to successfully control the temperature and humidity of the containments on the underside of the bridge during a challenging retrofit and application of protective coatings of the steel structure.
This presentation compares the operation, features, benefits and costs associated with different types of dehumidification equipment, including the newer mechanical type, in order to provide the audience with a better understanding of seasonal equipment selection.
