Total Exploration &Production Congo has decided to reinforce the cathodic protection of the platforms located in Yanga field. The way to proceed for depth over 40m is to lay down around platforms racks fitted with 12 sacrificial anodes and to connect with electric cable each rack to dedicated bracing.South Offshore has been awarded for the Installation Connection and Testing of 41 Anodes Racks around YAQ YAFP and TAF2 platforms. The 41 Anodes Racks were designed and built by Total Exploration and Production Congo. The electrical connection between Anodes Racks and Platforms is performed via electrical cables and retroclamps from DeepWater. For a better achievementof Installation Operations South Offshore modelized all retroclamps on every platform bracings and personalizes each retroclamp with special ROV friendly arms. This optimisation improves the installation and electrical connection of the retroclamps on the bracings of the platform. It has been also facilitated by an effective way of cleaning each bracing to get metal clear and remove all marine growth for the retroclamps. After the installation of all the retroclamps South Offshore performed a subsea measurement of the electrical current flowing through the electrical cables with a sensor specially designed for subsea use in collaboration with Swain Meter.
