Nickel alloys are considered among other materials as candidates for the constructon of engineered barriers of nuclear repositories. The objectve of the present work is to compare the corrosion resistance of several nickel alloys to assess the effect of the alloy composition on the crevice corrosion susceptibility. The crevice corrosion susceptibility of the tested alloys was measured by determining the repassivation potential using the PD-GS-PD method. The testing temperature was 60ºC and the chloride concentrations used were 0.1M 1M and 10M.Tested alloys included alloys C-22 C-22HS HYBRID-BC1 625 G-35 and G-30. Results indicate the crevice corrosion repassivation potential increases linearly with the PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number). A linear relationship between repassivation potential and the log of chloride concentrion was found.
