Corrosion dynamic changes of ductile iron which is a popular water distribution pipe material were investigated in remineralised desalinated seawater under tropical conditions. Coupon corrosion rate and water quality were monitored with the test time. Corrosion rate decreased faster during the first five days and then arrived stable platform. Total hardness total alkalinity and calcium concentration decreased along the test time. Magnesium concentration and pH kept unchanged all the time. Corroded products included FeO(OH) Fe(OH)3 FeO CaO CaO2 CaCO3 and so on.
