Duplex stainless steels are widely used for their superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Lean duplex stainless steels especially are favored economically compared with austenitic stainless steels due to low nickel content. In this study we compare the corrosion behavior in paper machine white water of lean duplex stainless steel grades such as 2101 and 2304 with conventional 304L 316L that have been widely used in paper machines.
