Touching on their applicability to the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) point system set up by the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) and also the mitigation of the urban heat island effect. Although not normally considered in parking deck coatings; it takes an idea widely used in "cool roof" coatings and makes it applicable to parking decks. Depending upon depth of color these results can be dramatic with large surface temperature improvements and possible improvements in durability.
