There are a variety of NDT tools that use 3D imaging to identify infrastructure damage. Ultrasonic measurements have provide inspectors with the ability to detect anomalies inside of pipes tanks and other critical infrastructure. 3D surface measurements such as structured light or laser scanning provide detailed information about anomalies that is complementary to the data gathered using UT systems. In most cases however the full power of the data is rarely realized. This talk will focus on advanced analysis techniques that yield more information about the impact of anomalies on fitness for service. Examples will focus on RSTRENG calculations on phased array data the integration of UT data with structured light 3D data and the calculation of surface strain maps from structured light 3D imaging of dents.
