A newly developed aluminum alloy galvanic cathodic protection system was installed on selected prestressed concrete piles of a bridge in Florida. The piles were instrumented to measure the aluminum alloy anode performance. To evaluate the new anode, the pure zinc anode was used for the comparison purpose. The anode performance was monitored for the three years since the system was installed in June, 1996. This paper discusses the results of the performance of the new aluminum alloy anode.
