This paper discusses the failure due to hot corrosion of a land based diesel tired gas turbine operating at a seacoast environment. The laboratory failure investigation conducted on various turbine hot path components is described, as well as the mechanism of hot corrosion, including the influences of turbine operation and environmental
conditions on the failure. Keywords: hot corrosion, gas turbine, sodium sulfate, nickel alloys, diffusion coatings, turbine blades
