In the design and installation of cathodic protection for underground storage tanks, one now and again encounters unusual situations. Paper describes handling situations where field conditions are not as expected, coordinating construction with other contractor operations, design considerations for unusual situations, preparing field changes when tank or piping systems are not as planned (metal instead of FRP, eg.). These situations maybe encountered with both new installations and with upgrading old ones.
