The technique of electrochemical chloride extraction has been used on a number of structures throughout the world to treat chloride induced corrosion of reinforcing steel. This paper dicusses the results of half cell and corrosion rate measurements on two major chloride removal trials in the UK, There is also a brief discussion of concrete property analysis from field and laboratory trials. This includes extensive work on the effects of treatment on rebar pull out strength.
