The corrosion behavior of Fe, Cr, Ni, and two commercial alloys in molten chloride/sulfate mixture and chloride mixture was evaluated by potentiodynatnic polarization and free corrosion potential measurements at 350°C and 560°C. Cr is effective to suppress corrosion in molten chloride/sulfate mixture, whereas Ni is effective for molten chloride. Mo works to suppress corrosion in nobler potential regime.
