Cathodic protection of low carbon steel in Alexandria tap water using single and distributed anodes have been examined. The materials used for anodes are: aluminium, graphite and steel coated with a polystyrene-graphite paste. Borax was found to prevent calcareous deposit formation at the protected cathode surface.
