Using Dry Gas Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (DG-ICDA) has been a learning process
for the gas industry. The Integrity Management regulations where enacted before the industry had a
chance to complete large-scale trials and improve this new integrity assessment technique.
Furthermore, the formal standard practice for DG-ICDA took several years to become reality. As a
consequence, best practices have evolved to address the many ways that DG-ICDA can be performed,
the types of systems that could benefit, and the common decisions that need to be evaluated and
resolved. This paper will share many of the more common key decision points that could be
encountered when performing DG-ICDA and share several solution options that can be considered.
