The regulation of the use of hazardous chemicals for oilfield stimulation and completion applications is one method for protecting the marine environment; however, for the long term, aggressive technical chemical improvements must continue to order to meet the challenges in the industry. This paper focuses on the testing required for the development of acid corrosion inhibitor products for use in well stimulation applicaitons. The testing required for the products to be "green" corrosion inhibitors includes the environmental testing requirements as well as the corrosion inhibition perforance testing.
