This paper describes a work process for reviewing the achieved availability of corrosion inhibition systems and for assessing the potential availability of corrosion inhibition systems (uninhibited events, methods of detecting events and barriers in place to stop events occurring). Improving availability has a direct impact on asset life and inspection requirements. The work process is illustrated by two field cases where improvements identified have lead to reduced costs and extended life.
