In the petroleum industry, corrosion control with inhibitors is typically achieved with continuous injection or via batch application at regular intervals. Numerous variables can affect the application of a batch corrosion inhibitor. Batch inhibitors are commonly diluted with diesel, condensate or lease crude to extend contact time with the intemal
pipe wall. Ttiis laboratory autoclave study examines the effect of contact time, inhibitor/diluent ratio and the nature of the diluent on the corrosion inhibition effectiveness of a batch corrosion inhibitor.
