Welded joints properties of Super 13Cr martensitic stainless steel were investigated to confirm the applicability to the actual field fabrication in this study. The properties of the welded joints of super 13Cr with matching welding consumable were investigated in comparison with the welded joints by super duplex stainless steel welding consumable. Newly developed matching welding consumable with chemical composition of 0.01C-12Cr-8Ni-2.7Mo had good weldability for both GTAW(Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and GMAW(Gas Metal Arc Welding) process. The welded joints with matching welding consumable had sufficient SSC(Sulfide Stress Cracking) resistance in CO2 environment with a little amount of H2S, as well as the welded joints with super duplex stainless steel. However, the welded joints of 0.01C-11Cr-2Ni-0.2Mo steel with conventional matching welding consumable (AWSER410NiMo) without PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) suffered SSC, because of the effect of the high hardness of the 410NiMo weld metal without PWHT. By the FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis for 4 point bent beam specimen with various weld metal, it was cleared that the stress of the case with the over match weld metal was higher than that of the case with the even match weld metal. Because of this, the welded joints using 410NiMo without PWHT had higher susceptibility to SSC. The control of the stress distribution in welded joints was considered to be important to the actual field fabrication to achieve the sufficient corrosion resistance. Keywords: Weldable martensitic stainless steel, Weldability, CO2 corrosion, Sulfide Stress Cracking, Line Pipe, Matching welding consumable, Finite Element Method, Stress distribution
