With the expansion into increasingly demanding production areas, the oil exploration and production industry is in a great demand for corrosion inhibitors that perform under extremely challenging conditions. A research program has been initiated to develop inhibitors which work under these highly aggressive conditions. In this paper, the results of corrosion testing, utilizing high shear evaluation tools, such as, jet impingement, flow loop and rotating cylinder electrodes are presented. From these studies, corrosion inhibitors have been developed which can provide exceptional protection under these extremely challenging conditions.
