Full Title: "Slow Strain Rate and Rising Step Load Hydrogen Embrittlement Testing of UNS N07718 for Downhole Applications"The influence of testing conditions and UNS N07718 microstructure on cathodic hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility is being assessed through slow strain rate (SSR) experiments and rising step load (RSL) testing. Electrochemical charging conditions are also being evaluated through potentiodynamic scans. Slow strain rate tests and rising step load tests are being performed in air and in hydrogen-rich environments on oilfield grade UNS N07718 which was annealed and aged to produce different strengths and precipitation conditions including variations in grain size delta phase precipitation and gamma prime and gamma double prime volume fractions and size distributions. Mechanical property ratios and stress intensity factors for crack growth are compared for the selected testing conditions and heat treatments of UNS N07718. The effects of microstructure on intergranular cracking and transgranular cracking are discussed.
