Volatile corrosion inhibitors are applied for corrosion protection of interior surfaces of power generation pipelines and other equipment during preservation. Peculiarities of the corrosion mechanism of metal in this case consist in that the corrosion process occurs in thin films of electrolytes. Sensing elements with co-surface arrangement of the electrodes are suggested for evaluation of the protective effectiveness of volatile corrosion inhibitors. For analysis of the mechanism of protective properties of volatile corrosion inhibitors using the adsorption isotherm of Lengmyur is suggested. Effective thermodynamic parameters of the processes of inhibition of corrosion of steel were estimated using that
inhibitors. Thickness of the films of moisture under such conditions varies from several monolayers of molecules of water up to phase fi Ires of electrolytes tens and hundreds of microns thick.
