Enhanced Process Integrity Management Through Real Time Predictive Analytics

A novel software framework Predict-RT incorporating intelligent predictive analytics linked to process historian has been created to provide refinery / process operators the ability to see corrosion damage in real time. Built on decades of intense experimental corrosion data and predictive model development this framework offers first-of-its-kind insights to proactively manage unit operations optimize throughput management and derive enhanced safety and reliability through real-time linkages to process data. The system also enables easy implementation of industry-best practices through support for API RP584 (Integrity Operating Windows) and API RP970 (Corrosion Control Documents).This paper describes the overall predictive framework and provides recent industry case studies / practical applications related to refinery crude unit monitoring to highlight the potential of intelligent software-based predictions to drive efficient linkage between process data and degradation. The systems ability to correlate corrosion rates to process upsets while trackingcumulative wall loss at critical locations and drive proactive inspection management is also highlighted.Key words: Intelligent systems predictive analytics crude unit corrosion mechanical integrity corrosion prediction software
